A brief description of what we are looking for

We are a family owned and run company, which has been trading for over 35 years. We are based on Finchley Road in London NW11.

Our firm supplies, services and installs Door Entry, Door Access and CCTV systems in and around London and the home counties.

AT THE MOMENT we are offering a full time and / or part-time office position for someone to work in our Service and Installations department.

The job will mainly consist of answering calls from Managing Agents or Residents in Blocks of Flats and then logging them, prior to booking the call with one of our Service Engineers and then keeping track of the booking until the job has been satisfactorily completed.

We do not expect any candidate to have prior technical knowledge. Very little is required and most of it is jargon. You will be gently supervised from day one, and believe it or not after quite a short period of time you will amazed at how quickly you become familiar with the various brand names and the most common part reference numbers.

The job can often be full-on – especially if we are busy and we can guarantee you won’t be bored.

Apart from the above we would expect our candidate to involve themselves in the normal run of office duties. This would consist among other things of answering the phones if no one else is free to do so, plus photocopying and filing and the very occasional trip to the Post Office.

We do get deliveries during the course of the day. You will be required to sign for them if no one else is free, but you will not be required or expected to move heavy packages.

The above will be familiar to anyone who has worked in an office before. Experience is therefore helpful, although not essential.

We also expect our candidate to be completely fluent and literate in English, and have a pleasant phone manner. They also need to be very familiar with Windows, Excel and Word, and should be comfortable with email. We do not have the facilities to train for these on site.

If you are comfortable working in an office environment and can take a little bit of stress from time to time, this job could be for you.

Your hours will be from 9:00 to 17:00, with one hour off for lunch. Pay is based on £12/hour. There is also a quarterly attendance bonus of £425 (pro rata on the hours worked), which will be payable when you have completed a minimum of three months. There is also a bonus at Christmas.
